About
Rod Ekart, owner of United Hauling Corp., United Metals, LLC and Treasure Valley Pipe, loves trucks.
The idea of having an Annual Truck Show & Shine started in June 2005, with Rod hoping to enlighten the community and bring an understanding between people and trucks…so naturally bring the trucking industry into Caldwell and sharing the positive side and the good of what Trucker’s do for the State of Idaho and our area was a no-brainer of an idea!! Of course, it’s always great to see some amazingly cool trucks!
Our goal is to have trucks from all industries; Tanker’s, Logging Trucks, Gravel & Dump Trucks, Tow Trucks, Combo’s, Tractor’s, Antiques and Specialized Trucks, and this year, Hot Rods and Biker's, shine up their toys and join us!
Last year we had close to 3,000 people come to our show and enjoyed a fun filled day! The Truck Show & Shine was able to donate more than $6,000 to the Idaho Meth Project and Special Olympics Idaho!!! Your continued support of our special event is very much appreciated!!
Once again we are proud to announce that the World’s Largest Truck Convoy
will be cruising in from Downtown Boise to Caldwell, ending at Gabiola Field! There will be a hosted lunch for all Convoy participants and Special Olympic Athletes, as well as some fun entertainment. When the lunch is finished, the set up for Saturday’s show and polishing of rigs begins!
Friday night is our Kick-Off party at the O’Connor Field House here in Caldwell (Next to Simplot Stadium/Gabiola Field). We have a fun night of music and comedy scheduled with Hey Kier, a musical comedian from Nashville, TN who will bring us Comedy that Rocks (www.heykier.com) and the ever so wild and crazy, Greg Hahn, a favorite on the nationally syndicated Bob and Tom Radio Show. He has appeared on Late Night with Conan Obrien, Comedy Central, CBS, ABC, FOX, MTV and CMT (www.greghahn.com). Advance ticket purchases available here on the website. All proceeds from Friday Night’s Kick-Off Comedy Act will be donated to the Special Olympics Idaho!
On Saturday, we have a fun day planed with a Truckload Breakfast beginning at 7:00am,
Hosted by Intermountain Community Bank and Simplot Transportation. Along with breakfast, during this time, all Show and Shine participants are invited for a meet and greet Vendor Hour under the tent.
Gates will be open to the public at 10:00am with a fee of $5/person and kids under 12yrs. are FREE of charge. There will be live bands playing back to back all day on two different stages as well as the “Show and Shine” with Awards for several Classes, a special Flag Dedication at noon, Kiddie Corner w/some fun activities and Coloring contest w/ prizes as well. Please join us for lots of food, fun and music for the entire family all day! All proceeds from this year’s event are going to The Special Olympics of Idaho. We anticipate a crowd of about 3,000 to 5,000 people at this year’s event!
A lot of people donate their time each year to help us make the event better and better, so please let us know if you would like to be a part of this great event!
